Video of the 1919 Cornfield Classic

Recently discovered footage of this landmark race at the Library of  Congress. In 1919, Harley-Davidson’s race team, the Wrecking Crew, swept  the competition at the first major race after World War I in Marion,  Ind. Red Parkhurst took first, Ralph Hepburn took second and Otto Walker  took third.

Original 1920 Marion Motorcycle Race Ticket Found

Marion residents Phil and Laina Leech have found an original ticket from the 1920 Cornfield Classic Motorcycle race that took place on the south west edge of Marion. The ticket was found stuffed between the pages of an old book bought from an auction in Indianapolis. You can also see…
