Troy Eaton of Summitville, now 77 years old, sent in this picture of himself in 1914 when he got his new Harley Davidson motorcycle. This picture was taken by Glenn Scott. The motorcycle was quite different from it modern-day counterpart, featuring a mud flap on the front wheel, an over-the-wheel kick-stand, and a small seat.

There was a time when Marion was a major attraction for motorcycle fans. In fact, one of the nation’s largest-ever motorcycle races was held in Marion. The excitement over the newest models on the market is evident in this photo, taken in 1910, of an early Marion motorcycle dealership, owned by Glenn A Scott, at 307 South Branson Street.
